Is Feeding Kids Meat Child Abuse?

I think it's just sad. As a mother and an Italian one at that, I love to feed my family, but I also know when to say hey, that's it kiddo. I don't think it's child abuse, but someone needs to intervene and get this family to counseling and a gym.

I also like to cook and my kids eat, but I dont let them go nuts. My daughter Krystal loves food, but I know that she does so I get stuff she can eat alot of and its healthy. For example she likes cucumbers and dressing, so I get the low fat dressing. We use 1% milk, snacks are most of the time home made. And because im on a low cholesterol diet, I cook so I can enjoy the snacks too. I think it is child abuse if you alow your child to become obese. Its a parents responsibility to make sure her/his children are healthy and safe. I also would blame the pedi doctor for allowing this to go this far, once he had reached an over the limit for him age group, there should have been intervention. It may be a medical problem that he is not able to process fats, his liver etc.. Its a shame they allowed it to get to this point. Now this child will suffer real medical problems, heart, joints etc...

Feeding kids meat is not synonymous with feeding them fast food. Meat is part of a healthy diet, and children, since they are growing, should stick to that. Too much fast food is bad for you so you should try to keep your kids away from too much of it. But I don't even think that's child abuse unless it's to a ridiculous degree. But while I respect vegetarians, I do not believe that that should be forced on a child either. That's a choice a person should make for themselves, and when you're a kid you need to worry about diet more because you are still developing. I think "abuse" is a pretty strong term and would rarely apply to dietary variations, but I think I would be much more inclined to consider forced vegetarianism abuse than feeding kids meat. And I don't even much like meat.
